The Devil Wears Prada 2 Trailer: 10 Details You Missed
Gird your loins because the first trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has finally dropped. It is absolutely dripping with the kind of high fashion nostalgia we have been waiting twenty years to see. From subtle musical cues to sharp tongued callbacks, MsMojo has identified the key Easter eggs that prove Miranda Priestly has not lost her edge even if the digital landscape is trying to oust her.
The Students Become the Masters
The fashion in the sequel is not just about 2026 trends. It is a narrative tool. We see Andy and Emily fully leveled up in power suits which is a sharp contrast to their 2006 assistant wardrobes. While the menswear inspired looks reflect the career Andy built outside of Runway, the most shocking shift is the power dynamic. Emily now appears to have two assistants of her own and is seen behind the tinted windows of a town car mirroring the original hierarchy Miranda established (11:09)

Nostalgic Cues and Groundbreaking Irony
The trailer opens with the Madonna track Vogue. This is the same song used during the original fashion transformation for Andy. The irony is thicker this time as Miranda struggles to keep a print magazine relevant in a digital world. Even more top-tire is the Spring Florals gala theme seen on banners. This is a direct meta nod to the most famous barb Miranda ever delivered. Whether it is a sign that fashion is a self referential loop or that Miranda finally found a way to make florals groundbreaking, the sting remains (09:07).
The Return of the Ice Queen
The first words from Miranda to Andy in the elevator are “Took you long enough.” These are four loaded words that double as a wink to the fans who waited two decades for this sequel (02:39). Perhaps the coldest detail is Miranda pretending not to know who Andy is by asking “Sorry, who is this?” while Andy stands her ground. It is a calculated power move because we all know Andy was the only assistant to ever walk away. That is a disappointment Miranda has not forgotten (07:58).
Editor’s Note
Watching this trailer has given me mixed emotions. The fashion is something I’m not sure about yet as something feels off. I recently watched a good breakdown by Ellie-Jean Royden that really put words to my hesitation.
