New research in quantum biology shows that the mitochondria do more than just process fuel. They act like batteries that hold an electric charge.

  • Proton Tunneling: Scientists have discovered that protons move through the mitochondria at an impossible rate through a process called proton tunneling. This makes the mitochondria a major signal receiver and emitter for the entire metabolism (03:14).

  • Fasted Training: Exercise in a fasted state a few times per week. This acts as a nutritional weight vest that forces your system to create stronger and more efficient mitochondria (09:33).
