Laguna Beach Reunion: Why Lauren Conrad is Ending Her TV Career in 2026

The Roku Channel just dropped the official trailer for The Reunion: Laguna Beach, marking two decades since the original senior year footage changed pop culture forever. The trailer leans heavily into the “unfiltered” truth, with the cast admitting they have never actually had these conversations on camera

The Full Circle Moment

Twenty years after a parking lot encounter changed her life, Lauren Conrad is officially closing the book on her television career. In a rare interview with Entertainment Tonight, Conrad revealed that the 20-year high school milestone was the catalyst for this final reunion. While she has spent years distancing herself from the Laguna Beach and The Hills era, she admitted that enough time has passed to finally “reflect and look back in a fun way”.

“I’m So Done”: The Retirement

For fans hoping for a permanent reality TV comeback, the answer is a firm “no.” Conrad stated,“I’m so done. Everyone who knows me is like, ‘You’re done'”. While she enjoyed the “vérité” style filming around Laguna again, it only confirmed her desire to walk away from the cameras for good. She explicitly stated that it felt right to “end my television career with the same group of people I started with”.

Squashing the Kristin Feud

The most anticipated highlight of the Roku special is the sit-down between Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, which marks their first time sharing the screen in nearly twenty years. Conrad confirmed that the pair “squashed things forever ago,” noting that reuniting with the original cast felt like a deeply emotional milestone. However, the walk down memory lane had its hurdles; Conrad admitted she was “sweating bullets” while being forced to rewatch and defend the infamous “love triangle” footage from her 18-year-old perspective.

Editor’s Note

When Conrad looked at the cameras and said “This is it, this is it,” it really drove home that an era is ending. While Laguna Beach was slightly before my time, I might need to binge the final season before the reunion drops because The Hills was truly MY ERA. Seeing her officially retire from television definitely tugs at the heartstrings for those of us who grew up watching her navigate Los Angeles.
