According to the leak, Avengers Doomsday doesn’t open on Earth 616. It opens on Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man’s world, where Deadpool and Wolverine show up on a mission to destroy the reality and stop an Incursion. Wolverine sacrifices himself alongside Tobey’s Spider-Man to save the multiverse, while Deadpool escapes and Professor X watches helplessly as another world falls. It’s a gut punch of an opening that immediately signals this film isn’t playing it safe.
Doctor Doom’s Plan Is Personal and That Makes Him Genuinely Terrifying
What makes this version of Doctor Doom so compelling isn’t just the power, it’s the motivation. The leak reveals that Doom’s entire plan, allowing the Incursions to destroy the multiverse so he can rebuild it in his own image, is rooted in grief. Steve Rogers’ presence in another reality accidentally triggered the Incursion that killed Doom’s wife and child, and everything Doom does in this film is essentially a revenge quest dressed up as salvation. He even rips out Loki’s heart to steal his powers and use them to create Battleworld, a whole new reality where he resurrects the dead and erases their memories so they only know his version of the world.
