Spider-Man Brand New Day Trailer Breakdown (Plot Details)
Spider-Man Brand New Day is giving us a trailer packed with Easter eggs, deep cuts, and details that are easy to miss on a first watch. Grace from Beyond The Trailer goes through the whole thing and honestly, there’s a lot more going on here than it first appears.

Source Beyond The Trailer:
Peter’s Transformation Is the Heart of the Story
Peter’s voiceover asking “what’s wrong with me” sets the tone immediately, and it’s clearly borrowing from the inner monologue tradition that Matt Reeves leaned into with The Batman.
- Perter’s spider eyes and what looks like organic webbing developing on its own suggest he’s mutating rather than just upgrading.
- Bruce Banner is brought in specifically because he understands what it’s like to have something monstrous growing inside you, and that parallel between the two characters is one of the smartest creative choices in the trailer.
The Rogues Gallery Is Getting Crowded
Scorpion is front and center, but the trailer also hints at Boomerang, Tarantula, and the Hand lurking in the background. That mix signals Peter isn’t facing one big villain this time, he’s getting pulled into a full street level war.
- The Punisher showing up and seemingly taking Peter’s side adds another layer, especially when Peter’s behavior in the trailer starts looking a lot less heroic and a lot more brutal.
The telepathic villain on Roosevelt Island is the trailer’s biggest unanswered question.
