Disclosure Day Box Office Numbers Are In and They’re Pretty Wild

The Disclosure Day box office numbers just landed and Spielberg fans have a lot to talk about this week. Beyond The Trailer breaks down how the new alien thriller did, what’s coming next for Toy Story 5, and why Star Wars fans are getting nervous all over again.

Watch the full breakdown in the video below:

Disclosure Day Just Gave Spielberg His Best Original Opening Ever

The film made 90 million on global opening day, 48.8 million from over 3,800 theaters and landed at #1 domestically, with Universal expecting it to cross 40 million by the end of the weekend.

  • With a 150 million dollar budget, it still has some climbing to do, but for an original sci fi film with no existing franchise behind it, this is a strong start.

Toy Story 5 Is About to Have a Massive Weekend

If Disclosure Day felt big, Toy Story 5 is shaping up to be even bigger

  • Pixar’s sequel is currently tracking to earn around 150 million on its opening weekend, which would comfortably beat Toy Story 4’s domestic debut of 129 million. That would also make it the biggest opening weekend of all of 2026 so far, topping The Super Mario Galaxy.
  • Pixar has had a rocky few years with original films, but it looks like the gang is about to remind everyone why sequels still rule the summer.

The Mandalorian and Grogu Keeps Sliding

In its third weekend, the film dropped 61% and brought in roughly 9.5 million, becoming the fastest Star Wars film ever to fall out of the domestic top five.

  • The strange part is that critics gave it a 61% score while audiences rated it 87%, meaning the people who actually saw it tended to like it a lot more than the box office numbers suggest.
